We have posted previously about the California Domestic Worker's Bill of Rights. After Appropriations Committee Hearings on Monday August 15, 2011, the bill is currently in the "Suspense File"
According to published analysis the staff concern was primarily the cost to the State of California for additional staffing paid via the Labor Enforcement and Compliance Fund. The bill's authors do have until August 25 to amend the bill to address these concerns and present it again to the Appropriations Committee.
